Amsterdam Fashion Institute has created a summer course in virtual design to provide knowledge about 3D techniques and the development of digital fashion. The two-week course is titled Virtual Fashion Design: The New Real and will be taught in English.
As reported by Fashion United, the course was designed for professionals or advanced fashion students at either the undergraduate or graduate levels. By the end of the course students will showcase their projects. The full course guide is available here.
The AMFI site states that digital fashion weeks, virtual shows, the metaverse, digital filters and in-game clothing purchases confirm the importance of digital innovation in fashion, and that this evolution is changing the profile of a fashion designer. Indeed it will not be long before all fashion academies need similar offerings in their curricula.
