Is AI a big deal in fashion?
Some general thoughts on the ways that AI is impacting the fashion industry and our everyday lives.

So AI is a big deal in fashion... right? Lots of designers and brands are using it to create products and project what people will buy. But some observers are wondering if AI is already ghosting the entire creative process in fashion.
Some people think that using AI is a good way to make the design process faster and to iterate on new ideas. Others are worried that relying too much on AI could homogenize creativity and make everyone's designs look the same. AI is most probably not as creative as humans. Sure, it can look at other designs and come up with variations based on them, but it might not be able to create something totally novel.

Another problem is that AI might retain the same old harmful biases that already exist in the fashion industry. That's because the machine only knows what it's been taught, and its teachers do not necessarily represent the full diversity of humankind. This is why equity and inclusion remain essential concerns in the way we structure the worlds around us.
Despite all this, lots of fashion brands are still using AI and seeing promising results. So yeah, people are still talking about whether or not AI is good for fashion. It's an open question. At the end of the day though, AI is here to stay and will impact much, much more in our lives than just the styles we wear.
